Contracts Manager (Sports Turf In the Community)

Candidate profile:
As part of its new state of the art training facility, Leicester City Football Club will be launching its  New Sports Turf Academy with one of its core objectives to deliver Pitch improvement to Grass roots clubs throughout Leicestershire.

Working closely with the Head of Sports Turf and Sports Turf Academy Manager, this role will offer the right candidate an opportunity to proactively improve playing surfaces across the county offering help, support and turf related advise along with implementing recommended improvement works.

Key Accountabilities:
Main duties:
> To work closely with the Head Of Sports Turf and Sports Turf Academy Manager to deliver this specific aim of the Sports turf Academy.
> To generate business and secure investment to allow the implementation of the works within the community.
> Manage, schedule and implement Pitch Improvement works through peak renovation seasons.
> To ensure work carried out is accomplished to the highest possible standards.
> To manage a team and allocate resource accordingly be it staff, machinery or materials.
> Monitor and Manage the expected standards of delivery across this area of the business.
> Produce recommendation reports for clubs to help secure investment for pitch improvement works.
> Work closely with industry bodies to ensure alignment of working practices.
> Support the Head Of Sports Turf and Sports Turf Academy manager to secure partnerships that ensure the Growth and development of the Brand within the Sports Turf sector.

Key tasks:
> Ensure all targets for local pitch improvement are met to a high standard and on time.
> Ability to use a range of equipment to deliver improvements such as Scarification, Vert draining, top dressers, sprayers and seeders.
> Generate a workstream that helps to deliver budget targets.
> Effective team management.
> Produce reports.
> Manage a budget.
> Oversee all coordinated works.
> Quality control and assurance.
> Work in a safe manner when handling equipment on site.

Essential requirements:
> To possess all relevant qualifications in Sports Turf.
> Hold a driving license with a minimum of B+E training
> Have a clear understanding of a contracting service.
> Have the ability to forge new working partnerships on behalf of the Sports Turf Academy.
> Have a clear understanding of managing budgets.
> Possess computer and administration skills.
> Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
> Possess presentation skills.
> A clear and working understanding of Sports Turf.
> Experience in managing a team.
> Excellent time and resource management.

Desirable requirements:
> An understanding of managing a business.
> Experience working for a turf contractor
> A full clean driving license
> IOSH Health and Safety Certification
> First Aid certificate

Role Requirements:
> To undertake required training, including mandatory Club Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety training.
> To ensure that the Club’s Safe-guarding and Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
> To adhere and communicate the Club’s brand values to stakeholders whenever the opportunity arises
