The IOG, with support from John Deere, is hosting an Amenity Forum ‘Adapting to Change’ Updating Event at Lingfield Park Racecourse, Surrey RH7 6PQ on Tuesday 19 March.
This half-day, free-to-attend event is for anyone with an involvement or interest in weed, pest and disease management.
Starting at 9.45am, speakers will present a policy update from the Chemicals Regulation Division and the new sector-wide assurance scheme, which is being launched this year. The Amenity Forum will also provide a full review of current issues and integrated management planning and there will be opportunity for questions and discussion. There will be an opportunity to tour the Racecourse site after lunch.

09.45 - Arrival and networking with tea/coffee
10.15 - Welcome and Introduction
10.20 - Policy Update - Presentation by CRD - Review of the National Action Plan? How will it impact upon the sector? What are the challenges and opportunities going forward?
10.40 - A review of current issues impacting on our sector in terms of weed, pest & disease management -- John Moverley, Amenity Forum -This session will focus on current issues and update on how the sector needs to respond. Integrated control is key in going forward. How do we do this? What are the current key pressures on what we do? How do we better communicate the importance of what we do?
11.00 - Operating at best practice standards – an assurance scheme and kite mark for the sector - Presentation from BASIS Registration - Why is this standard being developed? What are its benefits? What is involved in obtaining the standard?
11.20 Break – tea/coffee
11.40 - Integrated planning for amenity maintenance – putting it into practice Participative session led by the Amenity Forum and Associates
12.10 - Question Time session
12.40 - Presentation by one of IOG’s award winning racecourse ground team 2018.
13.00 - Conclude with Lunch and a tour of the Racecourse with members of the IOG Award-winning grounds team
